I was trying to explore the concept of time. The book looks at the first and last sentence of every book I read in 2008. The Book can be read either way up: one way it is a series of beginnings, the other a series of endings. The idea was to show the concept of missing time (i.e. the book only shows beginnings and endings, with no emphasis on the length of the original story’.
